ROOF ML
PROJECT INFORMATION
Roof ML is a rooftop terrace designed for a family living near Morelia’s historic city centre. The project makes full use of its privileged southern orientation, offering direct views of the city’s iconic Cathedral and the Santa María ridge.
The design responds both to its urban context and to the architectural character of the existing house, incorporating materials such as timber, traditional ceramics, and dark-toned finishes. These elements are combined in a contemporary and restrained composition that aims to create a warm, functional space for everyday living and social gatherings.
A central firepit surrounded by a long built-in sofa serves as the heart of the layout. The programme also includes an outdoor kitchenette, a drinks bar, perimeter vegetation for added privacy, and a light metal structure topped with a timber slat roof deck. The project balances tradition and modernity, offering an intimate and open-air retreat rooted in the identity of Morelia.
